ATAL Engages in CSR Programmes to Contribute to Local Communities

ATAL Engineering Group (ATAL) has been proactively participating in corporate social responsibility (“CSR”) programmes to support and make a difference to the long-term development of communities. ATAL’s staff have recently joined a variety of sports events and volunteering programmes, contributing their time and skills to demonstrate the company’s shared value of serving the communities.

Aiming to develop a sustainability-oriented mindset and encourage green living among the younger generation, ATAL has joined hands with non-profit organisation Rainbow Foundation to co-organise “Green Day in Ma Wan” for more than 20 secondary school students along with 15 staff volunteers from ATAL.

The participants visited Noah’s Organic Farm where participants could learn more about the mechanism of an organic farm and experience harvesting. Other than experiential learning, the students also joined a workshop conducted by ATAL’s staff volunteers sharing key concepts on food waste recycling. ATAL’s staff volunteers have cited O PARK1, the city’s first organic resources recovery centre which ATAL designed, built and operates, to introduce how to turn food waste into renewable energy for landscaping and agriculture applications.

Every participant not only brought back home a plant they have harvested from the Organic Farm for their continued growing, but also planted a seed of “resource conservation” in their mind, envisioning their support to “sustainability”.

Apart from volunteering work, ATAL has also joined the “Green Run” organised by Green Council and the “Construction Industry Happy Run 2023” organised by the Construction Industry Council. In “Green Run”, ATAL’s runners have completed the longest distance among the participating teams, achieving once again the “Long Lasting Low Emission Award – Champion” in the category of “Green Corporate Team Race”.

On the day of the “Construction Industry Happy Run 2023”, around 40 ATAL employees and their family members participated in the 10km Run and 3.5km Happy Run, while some took part in the Parent-and-Child Race, enjoying the event with their children.
