Programme Highlights
Designing for durability and protecting exposed parts of buildings are key credit requirements of MW4 under BEAM Plus New Buildings. This webinar explores innovative building surface protection strategies tailored for Hong Kong’s high-density urban environment. It covers durable daily-use coatings for existing buildings that protect glass, metal panels, cladding, and stone surfaces from daily wear, pollution, and maintenance challenges; as well as stylish, easily removable peelable coatings for new construction facades – these peelable coatings ensure pristine finishes during construction and handover while meeting flammability requirements under BS 5867-2.
The webinar will also cover Hong Kong case studies, ESG-aligned material selection criteria, lifecycle cost benefits, and collaboration models among manufacturers, contractors, and academics to support sustainable building maintenance. It is designed for building professionals seeking practical solutions to enhance both operational efficiency and aesthetic preservation in modern developments.
