Supported by the Hong Kong Green Building Council, the Greater Bay Area Urban Design Conference 2020 would be conducted online on 25 November 2020 (Wednesday).

The Greater Bay Area Urban Design Conference 2020 is organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Urban Design (HKIUD) and Greater Bay Area Urban Designer Alliance. The theme of the Conference is Wellbeing through Urban Design: A Critical Action Plan for Mega Region and provides opportunity to consider the critical actions required in developing responsive urban systems from the regional to the neighbourhood scale, that can enhance preparedness, living quality, social equity and wellness. 

The Conference offers the following themes that address both the current disruption and a reshaped thinking on developing urbanised mega regions such as the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA): 

• New Modes of Development - Urban Design for Wellness First.
• Global Trends toward Mainstreaming Urban Design in City and Regional Administration;
• Utilising Urban Data – What Are We Measuring? What Don’t We Need? What Are We Missing?
• Ensuring Quality Urban Design through Education and Accreditation.
• Right Development in the Right Place - Resiliency in the Face of the Unknown.
