Manager - IT

Established in 2009, Hong Kong Green Building Council (“the Council”) is the leading body, co-founded by four major construction industry and environmental organisations, driving the market transformation towards green and sustainable buildings in Hong Kong through engagement with the industry, the government and broader community.

HKGBC is expanding its secretariat team in line with its positioning as Hong Kong's leading member-based body dedicated to green building development, with opening for the post of Manager - IT:

Job Description

Key Roles:
  • Report to the Executive Director on all matters arising from IT that may impact operations
  • Lead and coach a small IT team to achieve departmental objectives
  • Lead the IT infrastructure overhaul project
  • Oversee and implement the ongoing maintenance of IT infrastructure, including but not limited to Linux system, Window system, MySQL
  • Manage application hosting, monitor performance and capacity, ensure continuous operation, and regularly deploy security updates and patching
  • Supervise third parties in outsourced projects to ensure quality and timely delivery, and compliant with IT Security Policies
  • Enhance the organisation's cybersecurity posture and implement key controls
  • Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to ensure efficient and secure operations
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards
  • Manage IT budgets and resources effectively
  • Collaborate with various departments to support their IT needs and ensure alignment with organisational goals
  • Provide end-user support to internal colleagues
  • Stay updated with the latest technology trends and recommend improvements
  • Any other duties as assigned by Executive Director of HKGBC or his delegate
Requirements: 
  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 10 years of relevant working experience is preferable, with 5 years at the supervisory level
  • Hand on experience of IT infrastructure (Linux server, Window Server, MySQL), application hosting, and cybersecurity
  • Certifications in Cloud Management and Infrastructure Management would be advantageous
  • Experience with security device implementation and configurations, such as Firewall, Web Application Firewall, and endpoint security
  • Proficiency in directory services maintenance such as Active Directory and Entra ID
  • Cloud and on-premise virtualisation technologies, such as VMware, Nutanix, Azure Cloud, and AliCloud
  • Experience with Network Attached Storage, backup software, hypervisor management, and database management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise tasks effectively
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Good supervision skills and excellent communication and presentation skills to convey IT technical knowledge and concept to the management and end-user in all levels
  • Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese
  • More experience may be considered as Senior Manager - IT

Job Description:

Assisting the Head of Marketing, to plan, organise and execute all marketing related duties including:

Key Roles:
  • To organise and follow through the planning, budget control, execution and logistic arrangements of various types of events, including large scale international and regional conferences, award presentations, press conferences, exhibitions, public campaigns, seminars and site visits, etc
  • To manage corporate communications channels, including corporate website and email marketing, etc
  • To assist in developing various online and offline marketing collaterals from conception, content development to layout design
  • To prepare editorial contents such as council announcement, speeches, presentations, monthly e-newsletter, etc
  • To assist in being the brand guardian and promoting the brand of the HKGBC
  • To manage the various membership database and related registration and renewal
  • To assist in initiatives related to membership promotion and sponsorship programme
  • To handle membership or external enquiries and administration
  • To provide secretariat support to the related Standing Committee(s)
  • To support the team in other activities as required and necessary
Requirements: 
  • Degree holder in Marketing, or related disciplines
  • 1 to 3 years of working experience, preferably in marketing or events industry
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and knowledge in HTML would be an advantage
  • Diligent and detail-oriented
  • Good project management skills, multi-tasking and able to meet tight deadlines
  • A team player with good interpersonal, organising and communication skills
