Hong Kong, 12 August 2026 – The annual flagship public campaign, Hong Kong Green Building Week 2026, co-organised by the Construction Industry Council and the Hong Kong Green Building Council, will take place this September to promote green buildings to the public. Under the theme "LOOK! Green Building Trace: Everyone Engaged, Race to Carbon Neutrality", this year's campaign invites the public to appreciate local green buildings and explore their importance and benefits in supporting sustainable urban development.
As one of the key programmes of this year's campaign, "LOOK HARBOUR! Green Transport X Building Tour" will set sail on 5 September. Powered by an eco-friendly electric water taxi, the programme combines "Low-carbon Transport" and "Green Building Guided Tour" to create an innovative harbour-based learning experience. Participants will board a water taxi featuring a spacious open-air deck and enjoy 360° panoramic views of both sides of Victoria Harbour. Guided by green building experts along the journey, participants will discover the green building stories behind Hong Kong's iconic skyline, bringing green building knowledge closer to everyday life and joining hands to build a carbon-neutral future.
Cruise across Victoria Harbour and Take in Green Buildings along Both Shores
For the first time, Hong Kong Green Building Week is extending its green building guided tour from land to sea with "Green Transport X Building Tour", offering the public a unique perspective on green buildings aboard an electric water taxi. The activity will take place on 5 September, featuring two 75-minute sailings with a total capacity of 200 participants. Participants will board at Kowloon Public Pier No. 5 (next to the Tsim Sha Tsui Clock Tower). The route will pass through Tsim Sha Tsui, West Kowloon, Central, Wan Chai and the Eastern District before returning to Tsim Sha Tsui East Public Pier at the Avenue of Stars, offering participants an engaging low-carbon travelling experience.
This specially designed harbour journey connects a number of BEAM Plus-certified city and cultural landmarks along both sides of Victoria Harbour. Along the Kowloon side, participants will take in landmarks including K11 MUSEA, Salisbury Garden, China Hong Kong City, Xiqu Centre, International Gateway Centre (IGC), International Commerce Centre, M+, Artist Square Tower and Hong Kong Palace Museum. Along the Hong Kong Island side, the journey will feature views of Central Yards, One International Finance Centre, Two International Finance Centre, Jardine House, Bank of China Tower, The Henderson, Legislative Council Complex (Expansion Project), Sun Hung Kai Centre, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and Taikoo Place. Through live sharing by green building experts, participants will learn how buildings across different districts respond to sustainable urban development and carbon neutrality goals through architectural design, resource use and urban planning.
Snap a Photo with the 2-Metre Green Building Buddy and Receive Event-exclusive Gifts
Each attendee will receive an event-exclusive Pop-up Green Building Map, which introduces green buildings' features along Victoria Harbour in an interactive way. A two-metre-tall Green Building Buddy inflatable installation will be set up on the top deck of the water taxi, creating a fun photo spot for passengers while inspiring the public to discover green buildings and contribute to a low-carbon future.
Attendees will also receive a complimentary limited-edition Captain Green Building mini digital camera, allowing them to capture memorable moments from this green building exploration journey.
