Hong Kong, 8 October 2025 – The annual low-carbon promotion campaign "Let's GOAL! Biz-Green Dress Day", co-organised by the Construction Industry Council (CIC) and the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC), was successfully held on 3 September, generating strong momentum for the Hong Kong Green Building Week 2025, which officially commenced on 19 September. Under the theme "Green Building Get Set GOAL · Race to Carbon Neutrality", this year's campaign encouraged employees to adopt lightweight and breathable office attire instead of traditional formalwear, reducing air-conditioning use while enhancing their health and work efficiency. The campaign featured singer and karate athlete James NG and former Hong Kong, China cycling team representative Vivian MA, who demonstrated practical and stylish "Biz-Green" outfits in promotional photos. The campaign successfully attracted participation from over 250 companies and organisations, with the number of respondents exceeding 300,000, setting a new record.
Award Ceremony Grandly Held with Different Sector Leaders in Attendance
The "Let's GOAL! Biz-Green Outfits Social Media Challenge" has been held for four consecutive years. The increasing number of participating public organisations and private companies each year reflects how low-carbon office concepts are gradually taking root in Hong Kong. This year's challenge received over 70 creative submissions, showcasing employees' enthusiasm for green living.
The award ceremony for this year's "Let's GOAL! Biz-Green Outfits Social Media Challenge" was held during the Hong Kong Green Building Week 2025 Kick-off Ceremony. Four award categories were presented: the "Most Popular Award", the "Biz-Green Style Award", the "Most Engaged Award", and a new category introduced in 2025, the “Most Energetic Award”, aligned with the sports theme, recognising companies for their active contributions to environmental protection and carbon reduction. In addition to receiving e-certificates, Gold Award winners were presented with exquisite trophies made from upcycled plastic, embodying the spirit of resource circularity and emphasising the close link between green office culture and sustainable development. The four awards were presented by the ceremony's officiating guests: Miss Diane WONG, Under Secretary for Environment and Ecology, the Government of the HKSAR, Ir Prof. Thomas HO, Chairman of the CIC, Dr CHEUNG Tin-cheung, Chairman of the HKGBC, and Ir Albert CHENG, Executive Director of the CIC.
Cross-Sector Participation Demonstrates Green Influence
Participating companies this year came from a wide range of industries, demonstrating creativity in the four designated Biz-Green colours, participation levels, popularity, and energetic performance. Their active involvement reflects a strong commitment to fostering a green office culture. Ronald Lu & Partners, Gold Award winner of the "Most Popular Award", was represented by its Founder and Chairman, Dr Ronald LU, who received the trophy from Miss Diane WONG, Under Secretary for Environment and Ecology, the Government of the HKSAR, adding symbolic significance to the award.
