BEAM Plus 2022 Wrap-up

This year, over 110 projects have been certified with various BEAM Plus Final Assessment ratings. These certified projects help Hong Kong move closer to its carbon neutrality target. They also enhance the health and wellbeing of occupants, and facilitate Hong Kong to develop its green finance markets including the significant growth of green residential mortgage, sustainability-linked loans and other activity-based or performance-based funding.

Visiting BEAM Plus Certified Buildings

Hosted by Mr WU Kwok Wai (胡國威), a former news anchor in the property sector, we have prepared two videos featuring a few certified projects in the New Buildings, Existing Buildings, Interiors and Neighbourhood arenas including Jockey Club Institute of Healthcare of Hong Kong Metropolitan University, Che Kung Temple Sports Centre, Three Garden Roads, Veolia China Holding Limited and Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park.

BEAM Plus Existing Schools

A new rating tool, BEAM Plus Existing Schools Version 1.0 (ES V1.0), has been developed for certifying schools’ sustainability performance. It emphasises schools’ top management commitment, adopts the ‘Plan-Do-Check-Act’ approach to building management and, most importantly, drives behavioural change among the next generation. Up to now, 125 schools have joined the certification programme.

EB Portfolios

Since the implementation of the BEAM Plus Existing Buildings Volume Certification scheme in 2019, 298 real estate properties and 11 property management companies have participated. The streamlined assessment process facilitates applicants to assess the sustainability performance of multiple existing buildings in a faster and more economical manner. The scheme has become a permanent scheme starting from 1 Nov 2022.
