This year, a record-high number of over 140 projects have been certified with various BEAM Plus Final assessment ratings. We also received record-high number of incoming project registrations in 2021, which include 186 NB,110 EB, 12 BI registrations. This reflects the industry’s increasing willingness to participate in green building certification.

BEAM Plus Data Centres

The HKSAR Government is committed to fostering Hong Kong as the prime location for data centres in the Asia Pacific region. Funded by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer, the new rating tool “BEAM Plus Data Centres” has been developed and launched in September this year. This provides a tailor-made tool for both data centre construction projects and existing data centre buildings in Hong Kong.

Banks adopt BEAM Plus as green mortgage criterion

In 2021, BEAM Plus was chosen by three major banks in Hong Kong, namely Bank of China (Hong Kong), Standard Chartered Hong Kong and The Bank of East Asia, as the criterion for green mortgage. In this regard, we have launched a new webpage on green residential properties.
