Sino Land Ranked among Global Top 5% in S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2026

Sino Land Company Limited is ranked among the global top 5% in the real estate management and development industry by S&P Global in its Sustainability Yearbook 2026, becoming the only Hong Kong developer to receive this recognition. This also marks the fourth consecutive year that Sino Land has been included in the authoritative sustainability assessment. More than 9,200 companies worldwide have been assessed based on S&P Global’s proprietary, industry-specific evaluation, which encompasses an average of 23 topics such as climate strategy, biodiversity, and supply chain management.

The recognition underscores Sino Land’s ongoing commitment to upholding sustainability to build a greener future. Key initiatives over the past year included strengthening supplier engagement and carbon management through the “Supplier Climate Alliance”, advancing community-based environmental education via the Discover Shui Hau project, and promoting sustainability awareness among colleagues during Sino Sustainability Month.

Mr Daryl NG, Chairman of Sino Group, who chairs the Group’s ESG Steering Committee, says, “We are honoured by the recognition, which reflects our collective efforts and commitment to upholding sustainability through collaboration, responsible practices, and community engagement. I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to our colleagues, like-minded partners, suppliers, and the communities for their unwavering support on this meaningful journey. We remain committed to creating long-term value for the communities and building a greener, more sustainable future together.”

Emo House & SEWIT Consultancy – A Community Mental Resilience Initiative with Measurable Impact

Organised by In Time Of, Nan Fung Group’s community initiative, Emo House is a playful, community-based project that promotes mental resilience through a restaurant-style setting, turning self-care into a daily habit. Just as the body experiences hunger, emotions also need to be regularly “fed” and cared for. Through simple everyday practices, Emo House helps individuals strengthen inner resilience, so that when different emotional situations arise, there is a greater sense of grounding and a clearer way forward.

Emo House offers three main services for daily resilience practice:

1) The Group Emo Menu: A tailor-made three-course “Emo Menu” designed for different groups, teams, or specific themes. Using its creative “Emo Kits” and tools, participants learn to notice and accept a full range of emotions together.

2) Waiter Training Programme: A practical training course to become an Emo House “Waiter”, where participants learn how to start meaningful conversations, design interactive activities, challenge common misconceptions about feelings, and become the best emotional supporter for themselves.

3) Mental Wellness Events & Interactive Booths: Bringing the “Emo Menu” experience directly into communities and organisations through engaging booths that allow large groups of participants to explore and strengthen their emotional resilience skills.

Whether it’s spending “a meal’s time” getting to know emotions more deeply, or learning how to better care for one’s own heart and the hearts of others, Emo House welcomes every guest to take a seat and rediscover warmth and strength through everyday practice.

And when the plates are cleared and the conversations wind down, questions often arise about what has shifted inside after these shared experiences:
•    How many participants discovered new ways to manage emotions?
•    How many became more mindful and aware of personal emotional patterns?
•    How was the experience valued, and did it spark a desire for more?

Social impact measurement powered by SEWIT Consultancy, a member of Nan Fung Group, helps organisations turn these questions into clear, practical answers. Through light‑touch surveys and data‑driven tools, outcomes are captured to help corporates see beyond a single event. The team then translates the data into concise stories and follow‑up suggestions, making it possible to communicate how resources are creating real emotional impact for participants. Investment in colleagues’ wellbeing becomes visible, discussable, and a strong foundation for future action.

HKGBC Members Join Exclusive Green Building Tour to New CLP Headquarters

On 10 April, Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) hosted its first Green Building Tour of this year for Patron Members to visit the new CLP Headquarters Building at Kai Tak, with CLP itself being a Platinum Patron Member of the HKGBC. The tour gave some 35 participants an inspiring experience amid Kai Tak's emerging green urban landscape, offering a first-hand look at how sustainability could be seamlessly integrated into this landmark project.

With insightful presentations and guided tours led by CLP and Ronald Lu & Partners, Executive Architect of this project, participants explored its future-ready office spaces which have been thoughtfully designed to support sustainable development and workplace well-being. The building demonstrates how design can actively advance United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (UN SDG) 3 – Good Health and Wellbeing, creating environments that benefit both people and the planet. Key highlights from the tour included the use of high-performance façades and an expansive green roof, along with the mindful selection of recycled wood, negative-carbon carpets, fast-growing bamboo and eco-bricks. These measures collectively demonstrate CLP's commitment to environmental stewardship and a people-centred approach.

"The New CLP Headquarters Building" won a Merit Award and Special Citation on United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in the "New Buildings Category: Completed Projects – Commercial Building" of the Green Building Award 2025.

"Hong Kong: Green Building in Action" 2025 Edition – Overview of the Latest Data, Progress and Achievements

The latest edition of "Hong Kong: Green Building in Action" has been released by the Hong Kong Green Building Council, providing a comprehensive summary of the city's green building developments in 2025. The report covers updates on BEAM Plus and its achievements, the Council's initiatives to steer the industry towards carbon neutrality, key features from the Council's publications, and the expansion of the green product market, as well as efforts to nurture green building professionals. Through concise infographics, the report enables the public to gain a clearer understanding of Hong Kong's progress and trends in sustainable building development.

As of the end of 2025, over 5,000 buildings had been certified under BEAM Plus and HK-BEAM. The total estimated carbon emissions saved by assessed projects in the New Buildings category reached 1.86 million tons per year, equivalent to planting 81 million trees – the same amount of carbon emitted by taking 4.05 million round-trip flights from Hong Kong to Tokyo, or operating 14,333 double-decker diesel buses for a year. Furthermore, the BEAM Plus-certified area in Hong Kong reached over 9 m2 per capita, an increase of 11% compared with the previous year, while the total area of soft landscaping in certified projects was equivalent to 254 Hong Kong Stadium pitches.

In response to the latest trends in green building development in Hong Kong, the Council launched the HKGBC Retrofitting Hub, an online knowledge platform, in 2025. It also jointly developed the publication Operationalising the Hong Kong Taxonomy for Sustainable Finance: A Guide for the Building and Construction Sector with the Hong Kong Green Finance Association. In addition, the Council continues to update and release a series of related guidelines, including the Hong Kong Circular Built Environment Guidebook, HKGBC Climate Change Framework For Built Environment (Version 3), and HKGBC Guidebook for Sustainable Built Environment (Version 2). These initiatives are aimed at enhancing professional knowledge within the industry, promoting continuous sectoral advancement, and collectively addressing climate and ecological challenges.

The report is updated annually to help readers stay informed about the Council's progress in promoting green building and advancing the development of a sustainable city. Factsheets for convenient reference are available for download in English, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese. You are welcome to read it HERE.
