SHKP Promotes ESG Principles and Creates a Sustainable Built Environment in Sai Sha
Having built many large-scale regional integrated projects, SHKP is developing a new mega integrated development in Sai Sha combining residential, sports, entertainment, shopping, and recreational elements, all blending in with the magnificent surrounding natural environment. In addition to the brand-new sports and commercial complex, GO PARK Sai Sha, it features SHKP's largest private residential development project to date.
The project emphasises environmental sustainability and ecological integrity by preserving approximately 30,000 square feet of woodland, creating a unique ecological habitat. Native tree transplantation and conservation measures have also been implemented to enhance ecological balance and increase greenery in the area.
Green measures that focus on energy efficiency, low-carbon design and innovative construction technologies are also introduced to enhance efficiency, safety and environmental sustainability. Through stringent quality control and precast units, the project has significantly reduced material waste. Part of the diesel machines has also been replaced with electric construction equipment to lower greenhouse gas emissions and noise pollution. Furthermore, smart cranes with remote control capabilities have been utilised to ensure safe operations while improving precision and efficiency.
The project also brings major infrastructure improvements to the whole community. These include widening Sai Sha Road to a four-lane road, building three pedestrian crossing bridges, widening sidewalks, and adding bike lanes. Importantly, drainage and trunk sewage systems have been built to improve the quality of life for the entire neighbourhood community.
GO PARK Sai Sha features diverse facilities, including a publicly accessible golf practice range, courts designed for emerging sports, a multipurpose indoor venue, three children's playgrounds and a pet park. The complex aims to promote pet friendly, physical and mental wellbeing, and foster multigenerational engagement along with community connections.
The project has attained sustainable building certificates, including BEAM Plus and WELL Community. Phase 1A (2) of the residential development is the first project in Hong Kong by a private developer to achieve WiredScore Pre-certification for Homes, targeting Platinum. This project sets a new benchmark for sustainable communities in Sai Sha, aligning with SHKP's commitment to promoting ESG principles and creating a sustainable built environment.

Arup Secures Double Win at the HKILA Awards 2024
Arup has clinched two top prizes at the Hong Kong Institute of Landscape Architects (HKILA) Awards 2024.
1. Designing a sustainable rural township with nature-based solutions
Gold Award in Excellence in Landscape communication category
This joint research project with WWF-Hong Kong demonstrates the transformative potential of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) in Mui Wo. By sharing a vision for a thriving community and healthy environment, the project combines local knowledge with landscape architecture expertise to design and implement six effective NbS interventions that address Mui Wo’s specific vulnerabilities.

Gold Award in Excellence in Landscape transformation category
BioVerse, Arup’s innovative platform, revolutionises ecological assessments by addressing the limitations of traditional manual surveys, which are often costly, time-consuming, and prone to subjective bias. It streamlines habitat classification and NbS design, enabling efficient, data-driven approaches to enhance biodiversity.
