25th Anniversary of AEC Group - Inherit the Past and Usher in the Future

AEC Group’s Board of Directors and senior management team proposed a toast to the guests with its new logo displayed at the LED wall, signifying its new page from its 25th anniversary.

The 25th Anniversary Dinner of Allied Sustainability and Environmental Consultants Group Limited (AEC Group) was held at the Holiday Inn Golden Mile Hong Kong on November 7, 2019. Nearly 300 prestigious guests from industry pioneers, business partners, friends from all walks of life, employees, and AEC Group’s long-cherished clients were invited to witness the glorious twenty-five years and look ahead a brighter and more sustainable future along with AEC Group.

"AEC Group was founded in 1994, when the number of employees was merely fewer than 10. However, the reasons why we could develop into a sizable company today are attributed to the adherence of our core values, including "put clients at the top priority", "value our employees" and "care for our environment". I believe the 25th Anniversary Dinner tonight shall be the best moment for us to look back at the history of AEC Group and look ahead the coming years”, said Ms Grace Kwok, Chairman and Executive Director of AEC Group at the dinner.

Accumulating Industry Experience and Achieving a Sustainable Future
In 1994, AEC Group embarked on their business as Allied Environmental Consultants Limited, which was mainly engaged in acoustics and environmental engineering services. Afterwards, they started to get involved in various green building projects spanning Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China, including the earliest batch of building projects certified by local and international green building assessment standards. In 2015, in view of the increasing demand of sustainable development and environmental, social and governance (ESG), AEC Group expanded to provide ESG reporting and consultancy services beyond construction projects for listed and non-listed companies. Later in October 2016, they successfully became the first sustainability and environmental consultancy in Hong Kong to be listed on the Growth Enterprise Market (GEM) of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong (HKEX) under the name of AEC Group.

Over the past twenty-five years, AEC Group has been involved in over 1,700 development projects, which covered a great variety of buildings and facilities, including private and public housings, office buildings, data centers, academic buildings, government buildings, and infrastructure projects such as railway and district cooling systems. In recent years, its ESG consultancy footprint spans across over 10 industries in Greater China and across the continents. While striving for success in terms of business development, AEC Group has taken the initiative in joining industry and community events, in hopes of crossing with all sectors in realising United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and shaping a sustainable future.

Providing One-stop On-demand Services and Expanding Services Coverage
In order to cater to the ever-changing trend of the world, AEC Group has always been committed to exploring more diversified services. Currently, AEC Group strives to provide one-stop on-demand services for its clients covering five business areas, including Green and Healthy Building; Acoustics, Audiovisual, Lighting and Theatre Planning; Environmental Consultancy & Sustainable Design; Green Finance, Sustainability Strategies and ESG; and Smart & Green Internet of Things (IoT).  In addition to expanding its business scope, AEC Group is also actively breaking its geographical boundaries to branch out its services coverage, with a view to bringing its sustainability and consultancy business to a broader level.

Walking Hand in Hand in Reaching New Heights
As a sustainability and environmental consultancy based in Hong Kong, AEC Group has been rooted in Hong Kong for twenty-five years, upholding the ideas of promoting social construction development and creating a sustainable future, in hopes of serving Hong Kong continuously in the future and benefiting the society. Twenty-five years of hard work has brought to fruitful harvest today, but AEC Group promises they will never stop here and wish to collaborate with different parties to cross the hands in building a more liveable and environmentally friendly city in the years to come.

1. Prof. Lam Kin-che, Independent Non-Executive Director of AEC Group, delivered his keynote speech at the beginning of the dinner.
