Revolutionizing Urban Development with AI and Digitalization: Climate Change-Resilient Planning, Design, and Maintenance towards Net Zero Carbon Symposium

Co-organised by the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) and the City University of Hong Kong (CityU), the Revolutionizing Urban Development with AI and Digitalization: Climate Change-Resilient Planning, Design, and Maintenance towards Net Zero Carbon Symposium is to be held on 17 May 2024 (Friday).

In the rapidly changing landscape of urban development, disruptive advancements in AI and digitalisation can revolutionise how we plan, design, and maintain our cities, facilitating net zero carbon transition. This Symposium aims to explore how these cutting-edge technologies can be harnessed to tackle the challenges posed by climate change and ensure the resilience of urban development.

By leveraging AI and digitalisation, urban planners and designers can gain valuable insights and predictive capabilities to make informed decisions during the planning phase. These technologies enable the creation of protective adaptation design solutions that consider factors such as extreme weather events, climate volatility, long-term sustainability, and green finance.

Furthermore, AI and digitalisation can significantly enhance the operation and maintenance of urban infrastructure. Real-time data analysis, digital twins, predictive maintenance, and condition monitoring can help identify potential issues, optimise performance, and extend the lifespan of critical infrastructure components.

Join us in this Symposium as professionals and thought leaders share their experiences, case studies, and innovative approaches to disrupt urban development planning, design, operation, and maintenance. Discover how AI and digitalisation can transform our cities into smart, resilient, future-proofed environments that can effectively transit to net zero carbon, adapt to climate change and ensure sustainable urban development.
