CPD Webinar - MiC, MiMEP, Robotic Welding and S690 Steel

The webinar recording will be available at HKGBC CPD Online Training Portal (https://onlinecpdtraining.hkgbc.org.hk/) later after the event.

This webinar is organised by the Hong Kong Green Building Council.

Modular Integrated Construction (MiC), Multi-trade Integrated Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MiMEP) and proper welding of structural steel are recent hot topics in the construction industry.

In this webinar, we have invited two leading manufacturers, AluHouse and Wo Lee, to deliver a technical talk about the following topics:

  • Different types of MiC technologies including concrete, steel and aluminium, their characteristics and applications;
  • Case studies of MiC projects in Hong Kong;
  • Application of S690 high-strength steel as a green material and its welding requirements;
  • The use of robotic welding to boost productivity and uplift built quality;
  • MiMEP and its support frame construction; challenges facing the fabricator.

AluHouse is one of the few manufacturers in Hong Kong that simultaneously possesses the technologies to produce concrete, steel and aluminium MiC modules. Its job references cover Hong Kong, Mainland China and other regions. Some of the notable job references include Penny’s Bay Quarantine Facilities, Kong Ha Wai Transitional Housing, Po Leung Kok Siu Hon Sum Primary School, Guangzhou South Railway Station and Guoxia Merchant Promotion Centre.

Wo Lee is a well-established steel and innovative green solution provider. It has been providing high-quality steel to the construction industry of Hong Kong for over 60 years. These include structural steel members, metal hoardings, support frames for building services, G.I. air ducts, etc. In recent years, they have expanded business to include offsite prefabrication, DfMA, design and build, consultation services, safety and hygiene assurance products, etc.
