CPD Event - Technical Seminar on Renewable Energy Applications

To develop a greener Hong Kong, the HK Electric recently introduced the Feed-in Tariff (FiT) scheme through the grid-connected renewable energy power systems.

This event is organised by the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC).

To develop a greener Hong Kong, the HK Electric recently introduced the Feed-in Tariff (FiT) scheme through the grid-connected renewable energy power systems. Representative from the HK Electric will explain to us the eligibility, application flow and requirements of joining the FiT scheme. Other than that, responses will also be given to some general engineering considerations, in particular the requirements on customer account and metering. They will also introduce the treatment of environmental attributes of the Renewable Energy sold under FiT Scheme and the implications to ESG reporting and green building certification. To further encourage the use of renewable energy and promote energy efficiency and conservation (EE&C), the Renewable Energy Certificates and Funding Schemesunder HK Electric’s Smart Power Services will also be introduced.

Representatives from the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD), HKSAR Government will introduce the Technical Guidelines on Grid Connection of Renewable Energy Power Systems and Guidance for Solar Photovoltaic System Installation. The regulatory requirements on generating facilities will also be covered in the presentation.
