(1) BEAM Plus and WGBC Research Findings

BEAM Plus is Hong Kong’s locally derived standard for evaluating green buildings.  Over the past years, it has transformed the way we design and construct buildings. The speaker will share how this rating tool has influenced the design and selection of lighting systems in local projects. The speaker will also share some findings of the World Green Building Council’s research on how lighting affects the wellbeing of occupants, and their recommendations for lighting design in offices, schools, homes and retail premises.

In the BEC 2018 & BEAM Plus, the lighting power density for various types of space is the major controlling parameter to ensure the efficiency of lighting installation.

Lighting controls will help to increase your building's energy efficiency while reducing energy costs. And the system can be controlled with schedules and timers, and also sensors that will shut down lighting in areas that are not occupied.
