AECOM Launches “Delivering Sustainable Legacies: 2026 Sustainability Report”

Ranked as Engineering News-Record’s #1 Green Design Firm globally, AECOM is recognised for its technical expertise in addressing some of the world’s most complex environmental and infrastructure challenges.

Key highlights in the consulting firm’s 2026 Sustainability Report:
  • A 60% increase in hybrid and electric vehicles across AECOM’s global fleet from FY24 to FY25
  • A 54% decrease in electricity consumption from FY18 to FY25
  • A 29% reduction in total emissions compared with the Company’s 2018 baseline year

Turning innovation into sustainable outcomes

Here is a closer look at two initiatives demonstrating the Company’s expertise in advanced digital workflows and climate adaptation.

AI-enabled sustainable design in Singapore
  • In Singapore, AECOM launched the country’s first AI-enabled sustainable design ecosystem, combining its ScopeX™ framework with AECOMzero, a parametric design tool that enables engineers and architects to test multiple design scenarios in real time. The integrated workflow allows project teams to assess carbon, cost and performance impacts early in the design process, supporting more informed and efficient decision-making.

Nature-based solutions for greater resilience
  • In Australia, AECOM collaborated with the Committee for Sydney and the Sydney Environment Institute on “Nature’s Resilience Dividend – The Role of NbS in Disaster Risk Reduction”. The research explores how nature-based solutions can help address growing flood and coastal risks while delivering wider ecological, social and economic value.

Driving local impact in Hong Kong

AI-driven solutions and NbS are also being applied across Hong Kong to advance nature positive infrastructure. Through projects with the Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD), AECOM is leveraging predictive AI to enhance slope safety and integrating NbS into New Development Areas within the Northern Metropolis, including San Tin Technopole, Ngau Tam Mei and Kwu Tung North, helping strengthen climate resilience while supporting nature positive urban development.
