Embedding Sustainability into Everyday Delivery: Gammon’s Sustainability Report 2025

Gammon Construction is pleased to announce the release of its Sustainability Report 2025, marking the first full year of progress under its sustainability strategy, United Ambitions. The report demonstrates how sustainability is being systematically embedded into decision-making across projects, operations and partnerships, with a strong focus on measurable outcomes.

Gammon Sustainability Report 2025 launched!

Over the past year, Gammon has continued to advance its decarbonisation journey in line with its Science Based Targets commitments. The report highlights tangible progress, including a 17% reduction in absolute Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions and a 20% reduction in Scope 3 emissions (Category 1), compared with the 2021 baseline. These achievements reflect the Company’s ongoing efforts to integrate low-carbon solutions into construction practices at scale.

Gammon’s Key Achievements in three focus areas

A defining feature of this year’s report is the introduction of several industry-first initiatives in Hong Kong. These include the first use of CarbonCure low-carbon concrete on a local construction project and the adoption of R20 renewable diesel—produced from hydro-treated vegetable oil refined from waste cooking oil—demonstrating practical pathways to reducing embodied and operational carbon. Gammon also became the first engineering and construction services company in Hong Kong to adopt the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) framework, reinforcing its commitment to addressing nature-related risks and opportunities alongside climate considerations.

The report further showcases innovations delivered on live projects to increase circularity and resource efficiency. Notably, Gammon pioneered Hong Kong’s first circular solution to recycle demolished tempered and laminated glass into compliant building materials, alongside continued progress in concrete and fuel circularity.

Beyond technical solutions, the report underscores the critical role of people in driving sustainable performance. Through its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Council, employee-led networks and capability-building initiatives, Gammon continues to foster an inclusive and supportive workplace. The report also features perspectives from colleagues across the business, highlighting the importance of collaboration, leadership and data-driven innovation.

Prepared in accordance with the latest Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards, Gammon Sustainability Report 2025 brings together project achievements, corporate performance and first-hand insights to demonstrate how sustainability is being translated into practical action.

As the industry continues to evolve, Gammon remains committed to working closely with partners to deliver more sustainable infrastructure and built environment solutions for Hong Kong and beyond.
