Wheelock Properties Has Launched its Business and Sustainability Report 2025



 
Wheelock Properties (Hong Kong) Limited has released its Business and Sustainability Report 2025, highlighting its commitment to sustainability and achievements under its three-pillar ESG strategy. Sustainability remains deeply ingrained into Wheelock’s business approach. The report has been prepared with reference to the HKEX ESG Reporting Code and the GRI Universal Standards. It has also gained broad stakeholder recognition, further reinforcing the Company’s role as a responsible corporation. 

2025 Wheelock Properties Sustainability Highlights 

1) Creating a positive impact on the environment
 
On the ecosphere - Wheelock achieved a 6% reduction in overall GHG emissions while maintaining a high construction waste recycling rate, surpassing the original KPI of 35%.

What we build: 100% BEAM Plus - The Company consistently attains at least a "Gold" rating under the BEAM Plus certification for all new developments over the past decade.

Community engagement - Through Club Wheelock and its partners, the Company engaged over 1.07 million people. Highlights include the City of Shell documentary screening with The Nature Conservancy (TNC) and The DO, and the launch of the "W1NNERS Running Club", with employees participating in the Social Work Run 2025.

2) Delivering quality experiences and trusted partnerships
 
Continued growth in sustainable finance - Wheelock integrates ESG considerations into its financing framework. Sustainability-linked loans now account for 88% of the corporate loan portfolio, rising steadily from 32% over five years.

Endorsed build well - With years of dedication to quality, Wheelock was honored in 2025 with the HKMA Sustainability Awards Distinction Award, multiple Green Building Awards recognitions, and ISO standard attainment for its managed properties.

3) Developing long term enduring value 
 
Adding value in urban development – Wheelock participated in Northern Metropolis Future Forum to exchange ideas with various sectors and support the sustainable development of the Northern Metropolis. As of December 2025, Lok Sin Village transitional housing achieved 95% occupancy with 1,175 units occupied. Through the Transitional Housing and Land Sharing Pilot Scheme, Wheelock is delivering 14,481 public units this decade, benefiting over 47,000 people.

Our future generation - Wheelock nurtures the next generation through programmes with valued partners including Project WeCan and the Hong Chi Association. Project WeCan has positively impacted over 107,000 students from more than 80 schools across Hong Kong. This year, Wheelock employees contributed to a 38% year-on-year increase in volunteer hours.

Community support following the Tai Po fire tragedy - The Company responded swiftly to the Tai Po fire tragedy, donating HK$30 million and providing temporary shelter for 562 people from 1,984 affected households. The Company also mobilised stakeholders to deliver approximately 2,000 items of clothing and bedding to affected families.
