Saint-Gobain Architecture Student Contest 2025: Hong Kong Stage

The inaugural Saint-Gobain Architecture Student Contest 2025 – Hong Kong Stage captivated audiences on 9 May at Blueprint, marking a milestone for architectural innovation in the region. Talented students from local universities showcased their visionary designs for the construction and renovation of rural towns in France, inspiring the jury and attendees with their creativity.

The event provided a dynamic platform for emerging architects to tackle real-world challenges. Participants presented innovative solutions that balanced aesthetic appeal with practical applications, focusing on sustainable design principles. The competition was complemented by a thought-provoking panel discussion titled “How to Strike a Balance between Sustainable Design and Architectural Innovation”, featuring insights from leading industry experts.

After intense deliberation, the jury selected Mr Lechi MA, Mr Kong-kit YUEN, and Mr Yui-hei Joshua CHAN from The Chinese University of Hong Kong as the winners. Their outstanding project earned them a HK$ 10,000 prize and a prestigious opportunity to represent Hong Kong at the International Stage Contest in Lyon, France, this June.

The success of the Hong Kong Stage sets the stage for an exciting international competition in Lyon. The winning team is now preparing to compete on a global platform, showcasing Hong Kong’s architectural prowess.

The event was made possible through the generous support of the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC), The Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA), and AIA Hong Kong. Their commitment to nurturing young talent and promoting sustainable design was instrumental in the event’s success.
