Arup Announced a Strategic Partnership to Accelerate EV-charging Across APAC

Arup has announced a strategic partnership and investment in Halo Energy, a Hong Kong-based startup specialising in designing and building end-to-end fast-charging solutions for electric vehicles (EV). This collaboration aims to develop and deploy market-leading EV-charging services throughout the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.

The APAC EV charging station market is poised for significant growth, projected to expand from an estimated US$ 13.23 billion in 2025 to US$ 27.74 billion by 2030, at a compound annual growth rate of 15.96%. This growth is fueled by the increasing adoption of EVs driven by their cost-effectiveness, environmental benefits, and stringent emission regulations. The market presents a compelling opportunity for innovative charging infrastructure to support the region’s shift towards sustainable transportation.

This collaboration is part of Arup’s Ventures programme, through which Arup supports early-stage companies that aim to transform the built environment for the better.

Halo Energy is currently the largest public fast EV charging network operator in Hong Kong, designing, building, and operating over 100 stations (with more than 1,000 charging points) while continuing its expansion across the APAC region. Through its comprehensive Charging-as-a-service (CaaS) model, Halo Energy offers an unparalleled end-to-end user experience, seamless operations and enhanced efficiency.
