ATAL’s AMSFS III Wins Certificate of Merit in 2021 Hong Kong Green Innovations Awards

Achieving “Certificate of Merit” of “2021 Hong Kong Green Innovations Awards” testified ATAL’s contributions to green innovations.

ATAL Engineering Group (“ATAL”) has always believed innovation is key to achieving market growth while delivering environmental and socioeconomic benefits. The Group’s in-house developed sewage treatment technology ATAL Multi-Stages Flocculation Sedimentation III (“AMSFS III”) has recently won a “Certificate of Merit” in the “2021 Hong Kong Green Innovations Awards” organised by Environmental Campaign Committee.

The award aims to encourage organisations to develop innovative, green and practicable ideas into gadgets, equipment or systems to solve environmental problems or improve environmental performance. ATAL’s Chief Executive Officer Ir Raymond CHAN and Chief Executive of Environmental Engineering Ir Steven LAI attended the Award Presentation Ceremony on behalf of the Group.

Co-designed and built by ATAL’s Hong Kong and Mainland China teams, AMSFS III is an all-in-one wastewater treatment system leveraging the latest construction technologies including Building Information Modelling (“BIM”), Modular Integrated Construction (“MiC”) and Multi-Trade integrated Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (“MiMEP”). Given that it requires small footprint of less than 50m2, AMSFS III provides greater flexibility. The system is containerised and can be installed underground, which makes it able to reduce the negative impact on the surrounding environment, such as dust and noise pollution at site.

On the cost and performance front, the fully automatic system has remote monitoring capability to reduce the number of operators needed, which is highly efficient and saves labour and maintenance costs.

The Group expects that small-scale and decentralised sewage treatment plants will be in high demand in remote villages and rural areas. As an efficient system that consumes less chemicals, AMSFS III is an ideal and eco-friendly solution for improving water quality in temporary projects and rural areas.

The award testified ATAL’s contributions to the green innovations, resulting in real benefits to the environment and the community. It also recognised ATAL’s cross-border teams’ collaborations and the capability of in-house technological development.

Taking sustainability as a priority for ATAL’s strategy, the Group will continue to proactively develop innovative environmental engineering solutions.
