Prof. Yuguo LI is the Chair Professor of Building Environment, The University of Hong Kong. The work in his team has led to redefinition of transmission routes, new mechanisms of transmission, and intervention methods of SARS-CoV-2, which have been adopted by WHO, ASHRAE and other health and engineering authorities. The work in his team also led to the findings of the roles played by airflow in the 2003 Amoy Gardens SARS outbreak, demonstrated the co-existence of heat and cool islands in some cities, and explained urban heat dome phenomena. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of Indoor Air. He received Medal of Honour in Hong Kong, the Louise and Bill Holladay Distinguished Fellow Award from ASHRAE in 2021, and Honorary Doctor Degree of Aalborg University in 2015. He currently also serves as a member of the WHO IPC Guidelines Development Group and WHO Environment and Engineering Control Expert Advisory Panel for COVID-19.
